Ph-D-based Awards

The Research Committee of the International Association of Schools of Social Work had a call for best PhD-based abstracts for the Social Work, Education and Social Development (SWSD) conference. The aim was to support early career researchers from lower-income countries (based on per capita GDP, aligning with IASSW membership and conference fee structures).  This was the second time the award was available.

Altogether 52 abstracts participated and were reviewed by for members of the Research Committee for clarity, theoretical foundation, methodology, significance and overall organization.

Based on the assessment the two best abstracts are by Aksa Jan, Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi: Stigma, Self-Efficacy, and Agency among Half-Widows in Kashmir: A Phenomenological Study and Aline Elisa Maretto Lang, Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES): "The silence of stones has no height": early childhood in UNICEF's discourse

The award covers the conference fees.

Congratulations and wishing for an interesting conference and success in the future career!
